Back to School: Middle East
Due to the sensitivity of the work in this country, we have chosen to not disclose the location. It is illegal in this country to share the Gospel of Jesus, and our partners are risking their lives every day by taking the GOOD NEWS of Jesus to some of the most vulnerable people in the world.
The primary focus of our partners is in slave labor camps. When a family can’t pay their debts, they are made slaves to brick manufacturers. I heard of a story last week where a two-year-old was forced to work to make bricks. On a regular basis, we hear tragic stories of rape of young girls, oppression of wives and mothers, and deplorable “working” conditions for the brick makers. The families are required to stay until their debts are paid, which is a very difficult objective to achieve.
The children of the families end up working off the debt of the families, but in areas where our partners are working, they negotiate permission for the children to attend the schools we are supporting. These schools provide the foundation for an exit from the slave labor life. As they move to higher levels of education, they are able to leave the camps to pursue their education.
This year we have committed to starting a new school that will give 80 children the opportunity for a better life. For $1,500 we can put all 80 children through school for an entire year. For a little less than $20, you can put an enslaved child into the school for the year. This is not just GOOD NEWS. This is INCREDIBLE NEWS.
Would you help us cover the costs of 1 or 2 or 20 of these precious children?
