Links Africa Youth Project
The Integrity Center for Youth in Kenya, one of our Links Africa partners, has requested help with the expansion of their gymnasium that would include a youth discipleship and mentorship program. The goal of this ministry and youth center is to help kids stay safe and off the streets, but to also give them access to several sports, discipleship, and mentoring programs. The National Class of Taekwondo students also meet at this gym, so it is becoming very well-known in the community. These programs will also help to provide jobs, feed and educate kids, and support their ongoing ministry.
Here is a little more information from ICY:
The funding will expand the income potential of the gym at Integrity Center for Youth through adding aerobics classes, more weights, and extra gym equipment.
The impact through the profits will create better wages for staff and income that can be utilised for ICY ministries, like school sponsorship, feeding programs, and general ministry needs.
ICY currently relies on a lot of donations for the ministries and more IGAs like the gym will increase the financial sustainability of the organization.
The Taekwondo program based at the gym has given timid children a new confidence and pride in great achievements as our ICY Taekwondo club is quickly building a name for themselves nationally and soon internationally, setting their sights on joining the Olympics 2028 in the USA.
Right now they are looking for $600 to supply the gym with some additional equipment in order to begin this new program. But, another $4000 will put them very close to their goal in helping these youth prgrams stay available and have all they need to support these street kids in Kenya.
