Zambia
We partner with Shiloh Hands of Hope which works in over ten communities around the eastern Zambia town of Lundazi. With the help of long-time Directors, Lackson and Fainess Chipeta, Links has trained Shiloh's Community Healthcare teams, having both multiplied to new communities and grown in their knowledge of basic preventative healthcare topics, as well as help them run their micro-enterprise (MED) loans, inclusion awareness program, and continued relief work for vulnerable households.
Links’ continued Community Healthcare training with Shiloh’s healthcare teams, gives them access to knowledge on common health conditions, practical steps for preventing disease, and empowerment in their volunteer roles to point community members to the right healthcare services when they are needed.
From MED loans, larger income generating projects in an effort to become more self-reliant over the next few years, to community healthcare training, and agricultural development, as the region is an agricultural hotspot, Links’ work will continue with the help of Sam Walker. Sam is our Africa Region Coordinator out of our UK Office but works on the ground in Central Africa. He oversees all of our projects there, and is regularly onsite to provide necessary support, training, and care to our partners in Zambia.
Any amount donated for Zambia will help continue the work at Shiloh for vulnerable groups and families, which will help these communities continue to confront poverty and create potential in Zambia.
