Finishing Strong: Missionary Care

These last two pandemic affected years have been especially challenging for Mission Workers serving around the world. Fundraising is an essential piece of mission work, and significant challenges have developed for Missionaries both in our organization and beyond.

  • Corporate Giving and Church Giving is down. Nationwide, corporate and church giving is down by over 6%, and within our organization that number is even higher. Individual giving is mostly consistent, but there is a gap created by uncertainty and reorganization of many businesses and churches. This is hurting missionary support as these two entities provide a majority of mission resources.

  • Faith-based Charitable Giving is losing market share to causes and needs that have escalated during the pandemic (ie. human services/racial justice/Covid-Relief/etc). Overall charitable giving was up in 2020 by 5%, but giving to faith-based causes has actually decreased.

  • Travel Disruption has prevented missionaries from returning to their sending homes to raise awareness, build new relationships, and to raise funds. Usually, mission workers return home every year or two to work to build their support base to continue the work they feel called to do.

I can tell you first-hand that the global pandemic has opened doors for the Gospel that are incredibly significant. Where needs were great, they have become greater which makes THE GOOD NEWS we deliver even more welcome. I can also tell you that the adaptability of our mission workers has been incredible. I’m so proud of our people and partners around the world who, despite decreased funding in many instances, have remained faithful to their calling and causes.

This week, I would like to ask you to pray about giving a financial gift to one of our mission workers or families. A one-time donation of $25, $50, or even $100 would be greatly appreciated, but a monthly commitment would make an even bigger impact. Local media has stopped talking about the devastation created by the pandemic, but the developing world has been severely depleted.

Would you help us finish strong in 2021 by filling in some of the financial gaps created by the crisis? Would you pray for these people and pray about a gift you could be able to give?

The button below is a link to give to all of our workers and partners. Please scroll and select a name to donate on their personal giving page.

YOUR GENEROSITY IS SAVING LIVES & CHANGING THE WORLD. THANK YOU FOR DONATING TO HELP US FINISH STRONG IN 2021!
