Good News is Going
"Education gives children the hand-up they need to be able to break free from generational poverty."
- Jason Bollinger -
Education is very good news in many parts of the world. Education equips the next generation to rise out of poverty and to be free from even the yoke of slavery.
Because of the generosity of our #LinksFamily, good news is going to:
Send all 40 new desks to our partners in Zimbabwe
Fund an entire year of school for all 11 girls at Abundant Life in Malawi
Give an entire year of school for 45 students at Grace School in South Asia
In Zimbabwe, our partners were required to purchase all new desks for their students to satisfy local government requirements. In just a month, we raised enough to provide all 40 desks. We sent those funds this week right before their school year begins.
Our partners in Malawi asked if we could help give an entire year of school to 11 girls who were chosen for higher-learning education. After our Back to School email went out, we raised enough funds to pay for all 11 girls to go to school this year. This not only pays for their school year, but it pays for their uniform, supplies, and food for their families.
In South Asia, there are 660 kids enrolled in school whose families are working off debts in the form of brick-laying. With the funds we have raised, we have been able to send scholarships for 45 of those kids to have an entire year of education, but there is still more we can do in South Asia!
Education is VERY GOOD NEWS and we are so grateful to all of you who gave to our Back to School fund. Though we highlight education in the summer, the need is constant. If you have a heart for giving the GOOD NEWS of education, your donations are always needed. Any more funds that come in will send even more scholarships for an entire year of education or much-needed school supplies for our partner organizations who are working to educate our future generations.
Thank you so much for your engagement! We will continue to advocate to give education to the places that need it most.
