Our Links Partners are currently advocating for the Rumonge province of southwestern Burundi, which is also their ancestral home. Last week a major landslide caused significant damage to the surrounding community.

According to the Red Cross, there has been one fatality, four injured, and at least 2,485 homeless, with 497 destroyed houses and damaged infrastructures.

"Between September 2023 and April 2024, more than 200,000 people have been affected including 20,000 people who have become homeless...40,000 hectares of crops [99,000 acres] were swept away. To reduce the suffering of affected communities, we call on the international community to contribute for sustainable solutions to support the communities to avoid consequences and to respond to current needs." (Joint statement from the Burundian Government and the United Nations; news.cn)

After visiting several times, our Links founders have a huge heart for the people of Burundi and have instilled in the very heart of Links the need to not only help those we know, but to help those who need it most. We would love to be able bless the Burundi community with our international support and in prayer. Please consider giving what you can to help provide relief to those in severe need.
