Emergency: Cyclone Freddy

In the last 48 hours, there were over 100 reported deaths across Malawi and Mozambique, with thousands being displaced, where homes and annual crops have been wiped out.

Local churches, community leaders, and national/international agencies are now responding with rescue and relief.

Links partners with several organizations that have communities and connections in the southern region of Malawi - the area hardest hit by Africa's longest lasting cyclone since records began! Cyclone Freddy has been active for over 31 days - making landfall twice already. The climate crisis is only making such cyclones worse for the world's most vulnerable.

Join us in praying for our partners and the communities impacted by Cyclone Freddy. Funds are currently going to help our partners there in the aftermath of the storms.

Please consider giving what you can and thank you for being GOOD NEWS to Malawi!

Let's pray together for those who have lost loved ones, homes and livelihoods, for a compassionate and coordinated response to people's immediate needs, and for the long-term impacts of the cyclone.

  • Pray for one of our partner's sister churches where a whole family was swept away.

  • Pray for those who have lost loved ones or have friends and family who are missing.

  • Pray for rainfall to cease and water levels to recede quickly.

  • Pray for local responders and leaders as they reach the most vulnerable and desperate.

  • Pray for the little resources that are present, to multiple and assist the many.

  • Pray for management and reduction in spread of cholera in the region.

  • Pray for togetherness in the rebuilding of communities and livelihoods lost.

Thank you for your support of Links and all of the emergency needs that come in from around the world.
