Hurricane Coming To Houston?

Dear Links Family,

I thought I would drop a quick note regarding Hurricane Laura which is heading to our general area. Living in Houston means living with the reality of hurricanes. We were on high alert earlier this week as it looked like 115mph winds with heavy rain were coming for us, but the latest models (which are usually very accurate these days) indicate that Hurricane Laura has shifted a bit and will hit just to the east of us.

While this is good news for Houston, it is not good news for a smaller city near us called Beaumont and a city in Louisiana called Lake Charles. The Beaumont area still has people recovering from Hurricane Harvey from 3 years ago. Please keep the people in this area, as well as everyone in the path of the storm, in your prayers. We are praying for them and all of the first responders who will be helping.

We do also appreciate your prayers over the Houston area. Things could always change, but it looks like the weather in our area will be manageable. As always, thank you for your support and care for the work of Links and the people we are partnering with. We look forward to being on the other side of yet another obstacle of 2020.
